Moissanite displays 10% more brilliance than diamonds and has nearly 2.4 times the “fire” (aka sparkle) as diamonds. On the Mohs scale of hardness, moissanite is rated at 9.25, which means it is harder than all other gemstones, such as sapphire or ruby, except diamond (diamonds are the hardest known mineral, scoring a 10 on the scale).
