The Adiamor Thin Band Engagement Ring Collection offers a modern take on classic styles including everything from solitaire, three-stone, and halo ring settings. These popular styles are not referred to as “thin” meaning less material, less expensive, or cheap. These beauties are specifically designed thicker in order to compensate for the more narrow designs. While they may be considered dainty they are far from flimsy. How skinny are thin band engagement rings? Thin band engagement rings range from 1.5-2.0 mm in width. Some rings may look thinner than others even though they measure the same in width. Rings with a knife edge appear thinner, or more narrow, than flat edge or rounded edge engagement rings. This happens because your eye is drawn to the thinnest point on the ring. The knife edge on our 1.7mm solitaire is approximately 1mm wide, therefore giving the illusion that the ring is only 1mm wide but in actuality it measures 1.7mm wide. The same effect happens with thin band rings that have diamonds on the band. When viewed from the top, a 1.5mm wide engagement ring with diamonds on the band will appear as if it is more narrow. Your eye is drawn to the size of the diamonds, not the size of the metal, therefore making it appear thinner.
