“Eight three jade” is a new jade species discovered for the first time in a mine in Myanmar in 1983. Its density, hardness, refractive index and other properties are basically in line with the characteristics of jadeite, but because it contains albite and micro-cracks, the density and hardness are slightly lower than that of jadeite.

The original stone of “Basanyu” has poor transparency, mostly opaque to translucent, but because of its granular structure and many cracks, it is often treated as B jade. The appearance of the treated “eight three jade” has been greatly improved, and the transparency has been greatly improved, ranging from translucent to transparent.

This kind of jade will be encountered in professional jewelry and jade circles and players. It is not well-known in the society and its application is not very wide. Albatta, the value is not very high.
