The most important amber producing area in the world is on the southern shore of the Baltic Sea in northwestern Poland. The most important amber producing area in my country is the coal mine in Fushun, Liaoning Province, Wan. Another important amber producing area in China is Xixia County and Neixiang County in Nanyang District, Henan Province. Because the amber produced here is brittle and small, it is mainly used for human medicine or processed into “pressed amber”.

Pressed amber is made by gathering small pieces of amber, heating it to 200～250℃, melting it, and cooling it to solidify. It is very similar to natural amber.

The identification method is that there are elongated or flat bubbles in the compressed amber, showing a flow structure, which is less valuable than natural amber.

Because of its exquisiteness and uniqueness, amber is also made into necklaces, kolye, rings and other jewelry for sale and wear.
