That depends on the earrings and your ears. I have a pair of 16 gauge “sleepers”. Sleepers are smooth rings, the same gauge all the way round, so that they can be rotated. Mine are anodized titanium and the card they came with said that they were rated for 24/7/365 wear. If your earrings are not bothering you then feel free to wear them as long as you like.
I am currently in the process of gently stretching my earring piercings. I took the sleepers out yesterday and replaced them with 14 gauge rings. So far they have not proven uncomfortable, although they are not rated for a length of wear. Disclosure: I make jewelry. I created these rings myself.
When wearing earrings in newly pierced ears, treat the area as you would a fresh wound, at first.
