You can use Goddard’s Silver Dip, it’s pretty good.
You can also line a basin with silver foil, add about a cup of table salt, and boiling water. Leave the articles to be cleaned in the hot salted water, and the chemical reaction between the salt, and the metal will clean the silver. You just need to dry off, and buff a little when you take them out.
If you want to use cleaning agents instead of, or alongside this process, Brasso Silver Polish Liquid, or Wadding is good. Goddard’s Silver Cleaning Liquid is good too. Silver polishing cloths with polish impregnated into them are good, I think Goddard’s sell the blue polishing cloths.
If you are ever stuck, you can also use toothpaste, or Jif cleansing cream, A little Jif on a, warm, moist, microfiber cloth, works very well.
Cleaning the necklace requires baking soda, соль, vinegar, boiling water, tinfoil, a bowl and a polishing cloth. Removing the tarnish takes less than 30 minutes.
Set a pot of water on the stove to boil. Line the bottom and sides of an oven-safe bowl with tinfoil. Place the tinfoil in the bowl with the shiny side up.
Mix 1 tablespoon of salt with 1 tablespoon of baking soda. Place the mixture in the bowl on top of the tinfoil. Slowly add in 1/2 cup of vinegar. Stir the ingredients until the salt and baking soda dissolve.
Pour 1 cup of boiling water on top of the mixture. Place the necklace in the water. Flip the necklace after a few minutes.
Remove the necklace from the water, and examine it for tarnish. Rub a soft cloth along the entire length of the necklace to remove the tarnish. Place it back in the mixture, and repeat the process if needed.
