Every time I wear earrings, my ears get infected. I’ve tried gold, silvers, серебро 925 пробы, and nickel free. Any suggestions?
If your earlobes are getting red and swollen and itchy and weeping, then you are probably allergic to nickel and maybe other metals. Since I got my ears pierced many years ago I can’t wear silver or stainless steel or anything except gold. I can only wear 10ct and 14ct gold in my ears or around my neck. Can’t wear a metal watchband… so wear only plastic, v tiresome! Серьги? Gold plate won’t do, it must be at least 10ct gold. If you have favourite earrings that you would like to wear for an occasion, paint the parts that touch your ears with clear nail polish, but still be prepared to suffer later!
Look for “hypo-allergenic” earrings. I find them in Shoppers Drug Mart in Canada. Some might be OK for you, and they are cheap, so you can try them.
Ask your doctor for some steroid ointment. I have a small jar of Betamethasone/Betaderm which I seldom/never need but keep handy just in case. It will clear up those swollen itchy ears in about 24 hrs. Just looking at my jar, it was prescribed in 2006 and now only half-used. Time for another, and good to realize I haven’t needed it because I’ve only worn gold.
Good luck with your search. I went through itching screaming madness once because sweating, while wearing an old underwire bra! It’s a funny thing, metal allergy. My mother never had her ears pierced but is also allergic to metals.
