Hi, a Platinum Cartier & Co necklace with diamonds. The owner thought it was silver and a fake Cartier. The marking said PT. 950. Not, 925 which is silver.
When I saw the PT 950 and real diamonds with a Cartier logo, I almost lost it completely. Lol. She has no loupe, so she didn’t know and was new to this.

A week later, I went into his store, and he said a very influential lady purchased the Cartier necklace for $25,000 USD. He made out well as well. The piece retailed for $57,500 USD in Cartier.
He and I were very happy and the lady got one great deal. I kind of felt sorry for the flea market lady; so the following week, my wife and I went back to that flea market and murdered her in cold blood. As I walked away I told her to buy a loupe and diamond tester with all the gold acids. 10kt, 14kt, 18kt, and 22kt.
Also, I told her to buy a scale as well. I told her it is an investment for her. Never underestimate a piece of fine jewelry at a flea market or second hand store. Most people are only employees on an hourly pay.
Know your business and educate yourself and you can make some great money like I did. Last year, I bought a real Rolex Daytona Cosmograph in 18K gold. The vendor thought it was fake and I bought it for $50.
