There are many classification methods for Hetian jade, but it is more common to classify according to color. 1. White jade

White jade is a special high-grade jade in Hetian jade, and its hardness is generally not large. White jade is extremely rare among nephrite jade around the world. The color of white jade ranges from white to blue and white, and there are many different names.

White jade can be divided into mutton fat jade and green white jade according to its color. Suet jade is named because it looks like suet. The texture is delicate, “white as fat cut”, especially moisturizing and smooth, giving a feeling of rigidity and softness. This is the best variety of white jade, and currently only Xinjiang has this variety in the world. It is very rare and extremely expensive.

3. Sapphire

Modern colors are different in shades, and there are also light blue, dark blue, green, gray, and dark gray. Only the dark red skin color and the brown sugar jade are seen. The color is thin and the lumpiness is small. Ancient jade has not seen red jade handicrafts so far, so it is not listed separately as a variety.
