When trying on any jewels, it is immediately obvious they were designed by a woman; a woman who loves jewellery and is fastidious about comfort and focussed on ease of wear. From a young age, Nadine was at ease with even the most precious diamonds as her grandfather was a famous diamantaire whose work was recognised with the title of the ‘Dean of the Diamond Industry’ in Antwerp. Nadine’s family moved to Switzerland when she was a teenager, distancing her from the capital of diamonds. But despite 22 years in investment banking, the lure of diamonds drew Nadine back to her original love. The fact she re-designed her engagement ring four times and obsession with taking apart and re-designing jewels, was an indication of Nadine’s burning need to create jewels. So Nadine quit her job, went back to school to study gemmology at the GIA and later jewellery design and by 2017 she was ready to set up her eponymous jewellery brand in London.

Beyond her studies, Nadine has many years of jewellery wearing under belt, so innately understands what makes a great jewel. In the case of Catena, the classic chain link is reworked it into easy to wear yet indulgently precious and highly tactile jewels with a wide range of gem options. Pleasingly versatile and soft on the skin, the Catena collection is in tune with women’s desire to wear glamorous jewels with an easy, laidback air.
