What are the best ways to organise your earrings?
OF COURSE, with a name like Holladay, I have to organize my earrings by events. I line them up on my earring racks, made for me by my late husband. The pic is my large wall rack.
Besides the usual holiday trees, Santas and jingle bells, I have some variations. For Valentine’s Day, I have red hearts that say ‘Nibble here!’
Also a set that say “I can read minds and you ought to be ashamed of yourself!”
There are rubbery plastic popcorn kernels that FEEL REAL for movie night, a set of 3 jacks and Trivial Pursuit pieces for game night. Bagaimanapun, my degree is in Recreation and Leisure Studies (with a Masters in Aging interrupted by cancer) so I know how to have fun even when old. (Not there yet)
I have pumpkin earrings and glow-in-the-dark ghosts for Halloween, plus skeleton heads that also work for the Harley gang, a mini set of handcuffs & keys, and a silver set of leather look-alike hoods for the BDSM crowd. (Or so I’ve been told)
Cowboys & Indians?
I came from overland pioneers and native American Indians.
I have howling coyotes, a bull with roped horns, & silver conchos with blue denim.
Also black crow feather earrings, beaded ceremonial headress and silver feathers.
The Owl and the Pussycat?
This NightOwl loves owls and has two cats, along wirh several earrings of each, plus a black outline of a stylized Egyptian cat tattoo on my right collarbone, peeking out of my blouse. It is a memory overlay, on my first chemo port scar.
My earrings tell of my life.
