I am unsure about the ball clasp, but it snaps together quite nicely, but we’ll see how it works in the long-term. It should be fine. I prefer lobster clasp necklaces, and does carry those, but they didn’t appear to be as heavy as this one, and as I said, something with heft was what I was looking for! Overall, very happy with my purchase! This product is actually cheaper on line than it is at the actual store or on their website.
